Competencies

I use carefully customized processes in all my client engagements. These are based on the following core competencies which are characteristic for my work:

  • Creating clarity of and alignment with the task at hand early on in the process
  • Dealing with differences and conflicts among peers and/or across hierarchies with mutual respect and empathy
  • Help individuals and teams to take personal responsibility for their contributions and commitments
  • Enabling swift and agile transformation of thought into action

The following paragraphs provide a short overview of my definitions for these words.

Clarity and alignment
Strong emphasis is put on creating clarity of the challenges and opportunities in the client's specific situation early on. In group settings, Future Search, Open Space, Dialogue and World Café are my methodologies; in case of individuals Coaching and Dialogue are used.

Mutual respect and empathy
People who feel appreciated will work with enthusiasm and commitment - most likely they will also love their work - even at times of conflicts and high stress. Authentic appreciation requires the ability for participation in another's feelings and ideas. TeamSpirit™, Dialogue and Coaching are used to build these competencies

Personal Responsibility
The more people get in touch with their strengths and their potential, and the more they become clear how to align their qualities with the business objectives of their organisation, the more they are willing to take personal responsibility.

Transforming thought into action
Ultimately, nothing happens if we do not act. For example, many can organize good meetings, but what really matters is what happens afterwards. Commitment, feedback, coaching and scorecards are used to prepare for action- aspiration and excitement for the tasks at hand as the energy for the transformation.
